Me

Contributed by -Sinner- on Wednesday, 8th April 2009 @ 11:24:45 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I sit in the dark,
thinking of who I am,
who I was,
and I smile my little smile.

I am no longer afraid of the darkness,
of the sadness or loss that follows us in life.
I know life is not fair,
and that nothing will ever be well.

But I see everything in a new light,
my own light to brighten my path.
I am a soul reborn in ways I will never know,
I feel life enter my heart again.

So many options lay before me,
so many choices to be made.
I will regret nothing,
for I am done regretting.

I am my own man,
I am my own soul.
No one owns me,
no one makes my decisions but me.

I am no longer that little boy,
broken down by life's tragedies.
I am a man who has learned to deal with the pain,
to learn from it and move on.

I have known love,
I have known heart ache.
I know what I want from love,
and I am not scared to keep trying for love.

To those who said I would never be anything,
I say look at me now.
To those who said I would never be happy,
I say look at me now.

You thought you put me down into the ground,
that I wouldn't fight back that I would just give up.
But here I am stronger then ever,
to you I say you can't beat me.

You want to break my heart,
make me feel like I mean nothing.
Well its your loss,
your heart you just shattered.

Because I am someone,
I am not like everyone else.
I am special in my own way,
and its your loss in the end.

You want to see strength of heart,
you want to see the strength of a soul.
Then look into my eyes and see the fire that burns,
because it will never disappear.

I am here to stay,
I am here to fight.
I know who I am,
I know my worth.

I may bleed,
I may cry,
But you will never break me,
or keep me down.

So I say to you this is me,
for all the good and bad.
I am here to stay,
I am going no where.
