Footprints

Topic: Lifepoems

The days of pushing have cease. The battles of words have ended in peace.
Once again we are friends and all seems well. Yet, you still mean so much to me, so much is but the least. Is this still within me? Do I still have that hope? That some day we will be? Ending my never-ending mope? Only time will tell, but the clock spins backwards. Only my footprints can guide me, but they seem to be guiding me to hell.

I can’t judge to harshly, then again, I never forget. All the times we had, the ones I love to remember, the ones I forget. Once again I turn to my footprints, but can I trust my own past? Or are my feelings clouded? Did that feeling really last? My urges to be with you sometimes are still present, but then again I remember, not all my memories with you were pleasant.

There I stand, once again at a fork in the road; with two paths. Either path leads to a new beginning, but how long will one last? One has my own footprints embedded in it like snow. The other is bare, once filled with lost hope. But I must make a choice; my heart will suffer at either one I take. But one seems more reasonable, one carries my voice. Footprints…guide me.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
