I Am Not

Contributed by MoonlightKiss on Wednesday, 1st April 2009 @ 03:08:29 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I am not where I belong
And they thought they could help, but they were wrong
Are you here, with me?
Because my overwhelming pain is all I can seem to see
I feel like I'm swimming straight upstream
Against the current, drowning, and no one hears me scream
I'm not crazy, but I'm not exactly sane
I just need someone close to shield me from the rain
And I'm not mental, I'm just a bit impaired
I need someone to love me and truly care

I am not where I should be
They think this can help, but they just can't see
That keeping me away from you
Is the worse possible thing that they could do
I feel like I'm falling so fast
How long, in this place, will I last?

I am not who I am supposed to be
How can I do this; how do I find me?
It hurts to try so hard to heal
But I'll try to focus on how your arms feel.

Be who you want to be simple as that if you don't like something you do then don't do it. and as for swimming against the current you may walk your own way but what make you different can make you stronger so don't care if you don't follow the natural stream of things

great write
hope to read more soon

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
