All this time I thought my past was the only place to hide
But now I see my past caused all the turmoil inside
My passive personality was rape by those without a moral bone
I cry most days in disappointment of this place that I call home
You think you own me
But you don’t know me
I’ll take these nightmares
and make them all happy
You just can’t win here
I’m stronger than you
You think you own me
But you don’t know me
I’ve been abused in more ways I care to remember
You stole any chance I had of being a normal kid
My fondest memories are of my family in late December
But all the other memories were so painful that they hid
You think you own me
But you don’t know me
I’ll take these nightmares
And make them all happy
You just can’t win here
I’m stronger than you
You think you own me
But you don’t know me
I know that these thoughts of suicide are caused by you
I’ll have you spinning so fast that you won’t know what to do
I can tell you that I’ll be content with my life one day
But for now, I just fall and cry in this cold December rain
You think you own me
But you don’t know me
I’ll take these nightmares
And make them all happy
You just can’t win here
I’m stronger than you
You think you own me
But you don’t know me
