Tragic Nightmare

My heart lays broken, bleeding on the worn, old and cold floor.
People stagger by, looking down and walking on.
No-one can see what is really there,
As I dare not stare into another’s eye.
I’m not willing for anyone to see my soul,
See the sadness and heartache that I desperately try to forget.
I hide from reality, fail miserable and am lead away.
I strive in my own self pity,
I laugh as I watch myself suffer in magical illusions.
What will set me right, make me take control
And make the decision of which way I go?
I need someone!
Someone to care, when I push away as hard and for as long as I can… fight for me, care for me, love me as I cannot do it for myself.
I don’t know how, or where it went wrong and I don’t care
But someone please just help me end this tragic nightmare.

yes, 'tragic nightmare' is a pertinent description of the lives of many people in this world. great writing, very powerful.
