Flat Creek
rose up over night,
washing away
our pseudo sand-castle.
Just last eve,
& no warning in sight
that things would
pass away.
Only scuffs remain,
of knees on hard ground,
knuckles,
knuckling.
Friendships toil
all but washed away.
Substance given way
to merely a trace.

Absolutely right.
Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. |
