The Stunning Sky

Contributed by shade on Friday, 27th March 2009 @ 10:06:22 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Oh you stunning sky
The collapsing and folding of clouds and light
The countless eyes of fire staring soundless
I whisper ounces in my composed waltz
Disposing of thoughts openly
Glimpsing at the magic of a mad god
Dancing fire across cobalt canvas
As wide as my imagination, yet vacant
My perspective stretches not
Hoping to notate the pale poetry of the floating moon
Even as my own world collapses Atlas carries the sky balanced
Heavy

I watch act one of the night sky
As asterism by asterism is introduced in full character
I wept for Cassiopeia
Cheered for Perseus in his mad dash to free Andromeda
My bursting heart applauds at early dawn when the north star makes the curtains fall
Gazing at the celestial sphere in amazement
As a burning god swims through the blue ocean of atmosphere
One day I'll ask it why it burns

Oh my! This is glorious!! Your descriptions of the night sky are shining with
demonstrations of brilliance!

"Hoping to notate the pale poetry of the floating moon"

That line spoke so deeply to me. I do so love the moon and her poetry.

This piece is both eloquent and exquisite. Softly delicate and yet
overwhelmingly strong. Lovely post.
