ode to moon and star

Contributed by fortunesdancer on Thursday, 26th March 2009 @ 03:13:23 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

you bask the night in baths of white light
that shatter the night
a thing of once great mystery
an influence to all of history
you omnipatent being that sits among radiant stary admirers
you lustfully and envously gaze down upon us
the keeper and gaurdian of atmosphere
the inspirer of
art
poems
sonnets
and of love
a thing that could never be trusted
but a remanent of a less materialistic time
and a certinaty that must remain
to see the end of days
and the last true worldly beauty
that hangs delicatly in the sky
you stand with your brothers
of the nocturnal realm
to foretell of your storys of by gone days
and to witness the days to come
you do not judge
deny
or hate
you just sit and ponder
a brother to many
to me an eternal mate

I agree with you, there is something magical and mysterious about the moon.
There she sits, watching, like some divine being.

You've woven a really great piece here. I happen to hold a very fond place in my heart for the moon, so it's always nice to see poetry dedicated to the heavens.

You have many wonderful lines, but I especially liked these:

"the inspirer of
art
poems
sonnets
and of love
a thing that could never be trusted
but a remanent of a less materialistic time"

A really good job. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Be well,
~Loende

Your last line made me smile. The darkness bathes in the passion of moon's light
and stars' nonchalant glow. You've captured some of that beauty in this.

The moon and stars hold a certain mystery and charm that seeks us. It reaches
in to touch our very souls, as does this write. ^_^

Beautiful post ~
