a lovers' silent prayer

Contributed by elle on Thursday, 26th March 2009 @ 09:46:40 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

forsake words as a weapon. . .
no 'morrow slain by absences.

forget, before our last dawn breaks. . .
the good-bye kiss.
let us pass the night,
only dwell within each others eyes.

& if a notion tries to slip
between your lips or mine
we'll counter with
delicate finger-tip
placed there as compassion
to shhiiissshhh
our harrowed hearts.

forget time, as a champion. . .
any instance or forever,
never ours to hold
& fails to pacify
for what just falls away.
but keep my gaze & trust so pure. . .
that, nothing can replace.

neglect, with care. . .
the distancing,
the gradual pacing of time
no longer spent.

but keep this truce. . .
a lovers' silent prayer.

This was a very lyrical, almost musical piece. It just flowed so beautifully that it was a total joy to read. Fantastic work.

Be well,
~Loende

stay quiet, forget the time, and just enjoy the moment ... a grand message for experiencing love and good poetry.

nice one, elle (the move doesn't appear to have dulled the senses).
