Ghost (Of You)

Contributed by redsleeve on Tuesday, 24th March 2009 @ 11:08:33 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

... and given the chance, I would do it all and lose it all again. Just to feel that single moment of greatness that we shared.

These are my thoughts as I sit here alone,
while the ghost of you dances inside my eye lids.

Bella, drink in hand, you look so Devine showing your back like that.
So naturally defined yet elegant in its shape.
Two perfectly placed dimples occupy the small,
Casting shadows inside in such a way,
I just have to touch one.

Bird, my feelings are growing with the slip up the side of your skirt.
It seems to go on for miles.
I follow it from the cutest ankle,
Slide past the curve of the smoothes calve.
My eyes tip-toe up the cruelest thigh.
It’s taunting me,
like a pendulum that will not stop and allow the heart to play.
Always swinging back to the brain,
Keeping clumsy hearts in check.

I must have you…
And you’re gravitating toward me,
Keeping perfect time with your seductive sway.

My finger tips pound as your gaze lies upon me,
Piercing this soul at the deepest point of my being.

I’m stuck,
standing still, as the ghost of you moves in closer.

Breathing deep now,
You’re all I can feel.
My heart is racing
and none of this is real.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
