on an autum i walk through feilds of sweet air
at the dawning of the day
you lie at the rim of the feild were the sweet hay lies
you strum your mandolin
and an angel cries
you sit carefree under shade of elm leaves
the wind calm a subtle breeze
i lie beside you
you play regardless
and i recall a november of yore
on an ireland tour
i beg you to play more
and i see your dark hair before me
it ensnares me in lust
i passed through the danger
to get beside you
and as the day dawned
in november chill we walk along the waters edge
by a deep ravine
were i pledged my passion to you
i loved you too much
happyness not shared is happyness thrown away
so i gave it to you
we exchanged our gifts on feilds of hay in an irish fair may
and beach of sand and stone
your dark hair unravels like clouds over feilds of pearl and oat
on a quite street
were i go to meet you
i see you walk away from me
so hurriedly
that i have loved not as i should have done
as the angels swoon
the plays end looms
at the dawning of the day
