Moon and Sun

Contributed by TUNA530 on Wednesday, 18th March 2009 @ 06:31:50 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

A magnificent star rises, brightly glowing during the blue, cloudless day.
Eyes wandering toward the giant, wondering, smiling under the beautiful golden object of purity and grace.
Lids shut from the wonderful feel of rays against skin, not harmful, merely delicate, like whispers in ears.
Soft sighs erupt from pink lips, bringing happiness.
The wind brushes brown locks from tanned cheeks, so sweet and loving.
The daylight causes more sighs and more smiles, happy thoughts are everywhere.
As twilight nears closer, happiness fades to sleepy eyes and lullabies.
The sun, giving its final goodbyes, lets out a colorful stain of purple and pink, yellow and red.
Then it waves and goes to sleep with one last burst of light over the horizon, leaving a luminescent moon behind, gazing down with that bright grin plastered on its surface.
Something amiss under the starlit sky for the sparkling lights are too bright for a single being.
One must have another to be completed; one must be with a warmth that holds you close, like fire on a cold, breezy night.
A small touch against frostbitten hands and suddenly all is hot with pleasure.
Knowing as the moon watches with its sly face, lips meet and a spark like a firework is shot into the sky.
A new shooting star was born from a mere gentile touch, a small warming gift, and an eternal loving moment.
That which was a tiny speck on the planet can now be shared with the universe, spreading its love throughout the worlds.
The moon and sun linked together in harmony, bringing passion and light to all.

Well, I personally think it's great. You have done very well at conveying the imagery that we so desire in the poetry we read. Nicely done.

Take care and thank you for an enjoyable read.

Keep it up!

Tim

I would have never guessed you are 15. You have an ability to write beyond that. I really liked how you conveyed your thoughts. This is a great poem and wonderful read. I look forward to seeing what else you post in the future.

With Love,
~Butterfly
