Snowflakes Flutter by

Topic: goodbyepoetry

Snowflakes flutter by the window
Resting lightly on the grass
There she stands, watching
The frost creep slowly 'cross the glass

I want to be the one she needs
The one who holds her safe and warm
I want to be the one to love her
And shelter her from the wintry storm

A blanket, I would wrap around her
And place a mug of cocoa in her hand
And together, wrapped in warmth and comfort
Against the winter chill we'd stand

But she has not time for cocoa
Nor to stand and watch the snow
Maybe I should see there's no time for me
Stand back, and let her go.

The blanket will collect the dust
The cocoa will cool and dry
And I'll try not to want to be with her
As she watches snowflakes flutter by.

This is the first time I have read your poetry and let me say it was wonderful.

This poem is elegant, sublime, filled with exquisite imagery and I LOVED it. Truly.

The title I envy. It just catches you and says, "Come read me".

This is an amazing poem! I too know what it's like to have to let someone someone go.

Wow, I can so relate to this excellent conveyance of your desires. And well, Kie said the rest as I agree with her 110% !!! I could not have said it better.

Thank you for a most enjoyable read. I sincerely hope that things get better for you.

Take care,

Tim
