Faces of Evil

Contributed by shelby on Wednesday, 18th March 2009 @ 02:45:11 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Oh saintly one’s at least that is what is proclaimed.
Through lying parted lips painted with soft smirks
speak of one form then some know a truth,
a truth of the people you are, some eyes see through transparency.

Even in moments of pale melancholy,
when the control mongers come out to play
there are those who’s eyes see through the mask
a candied mask for the world displayed.
A mask that isn’t sweet, but bitter and evil.

Contemptuous ways racing with karma, not winning
playing “the game” planting seeds of distrust.
Will grow the vine and strangle the life
evil deeds done with a grin begets the thorn.

One covers their eyes because they do not really want to see
the evil beneath the faces of masks worn
you feel the vibration of the “real of it”
slinking beside you, snaking into your soul, and you know.

Knowing to beware because things are not what they appear
and the reality of it all is staggering,
wearing heavy upon hearts that know the meaning of real
is it a blessing or a true curse, to see through faces of evil?

excellent work once again, especially this bit:

'Contemptuous ways racing with karma, not winning
playing “the game” planting seeds of distrust.
Will grow the vine and strangle the life
evil deeds done with a grin begets the thorn.'

well done.

Your poem was (as always) written with your unique flair and talent. It was a bit scary, and that picture was horribly scary.

More than that, I think many people wish they were better judges of character. But I would think it could also be a curse.

You write about so many topics and the poems you submit are always full of surprises.

great write, very sophisticated (in a good way) and unique.

"is it a blessing or a true curse, to see through faces of evil?"

...at least u see the truth, as long as u can handle it (i know it's an old cumbersome saying), and what u see behind it all is what u dont want to be...

the picture topped it all off, great job

take care

"that know the meaning of real
is it a blessing or a true curse, to see through faces of evil?"..
that is called insight..you have the insight.
The best thing you must do is to avoid the evil with firm decission..
God bless peace and happiness to you.
love and hugs my friend.:-)venkat

I always seem to relate to poems like this...because that is what life is right now. Not sure if I am living in reality or fantasy. Wanting to see life the way that we want to that we are blind to what is going on around us...Thinking that someone feels one way towards you because of a mask that has been worn hiding the truth...and when the truth finally comes out it breaks you in half and you dont know if you will be able to pull yourself together to make it through one more day. So you asked me if everything is going ok.......truth be told...it couldnt be farther from being ok...but such is life right now...gotta live with it and roll with the punches and hope that one day it will change for the better.

You did a great job as always....
Just because the pen is still painting the pictures doesnt mean that the mind controlling it is still sane.

Holy censored Michelle!!!! So dripping with sarcasm and excellent foresight into the eyes of a hypocrite! I absolutely love this poem. You dish it out like so many of us wish we could do.

I also agree with Kie....I know there has been a lot of times I wish I was a better judge of character. But ya know? It all comes out sooner or later.

And, okay what the censored is up with that picture? That just creeps me out. Yeesh!

Take care. Been thinking about you a lot and hope things are getting better.

Tim
