Stone Angels, Bleeding Hearts

Contributed by ingeniusidiot on Wednesday, 18th March 2009 @ 08:44:24 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Motionless angels carved in stone
Eternity apart yet not alone
Surrounded by death tears fall with the falling rain
Passers-by pay no heed yet they feel no pain
A kiss upon the cheek from the passing wind
To silent thoughts their ears do they lend
Giving life to forgotten memories
As gentle whispers upon a soft yet stagnant breeze
Seeing as by day with the world as dark as pitch and midnight
Since blinded by love they no longer have their sight
Wanderers and wounded hearts at their feet kneel to pray
And rest weary eyes and souls as among fallen leaves and blackened roses they lay
For a guilty conscience knows no bounds
As upon the hardened heart Hell releases it’s hounds
While from beneath the rotting earth the tormented sound their screams
For with eternity comes the reality of nightmares and darkened dreams
