On the back of a butterfly
rest my hopes and dreams.
She dances in the front yard
flittering, fluttering, teasing me.
Laughter bubbles up from within
as I playfully try to catch her.
I admire her beauty
while she rests on a nearby flower.
I sit in the grass, mesmerized.
She flickers her wings, then becomes still.
And here comes your foot
with the intention to kill.
You squashed her....
just like you squashed me...
Gone in an instant
are my hopes and dreams.

Very interesting and meaningful. But maybe you could have done something to save the butterfly....and yourself.
Keep writing

This was beautiful but cruel in its ending.
I/'/d make two versions. One to get your angst across and then a sweet one to wow us. |
