Apart for so many years
Missed you forever, through my tears
You were the first person to help me see
What lied underneath, what was inside of me
You made me smile, when things were bad
You cheered me up, when I was sad
These words feel lame, and it makes me mad
Cause I was never good at this
You were my best friend, back in a time
Where my happiness was rare, and there was only angry rhyme
A long time passed, there was no sign
That I'd cross your path or you'd cross mine
But time and fate led me back to you
And I'm very happy, grateful too
You were there for me at the start
I've always held you close to my heart
And I finally had the chance to say
Thank you

well done poem. i can relate to this very much. it's hard to keep a good frienship intact for many years/ a lifetime. i'm sure ur friend will appreciate this if he/she read this. take care
