A mind lost in a place
Of fear and confusion
Where surreal is reality
Transfixed with illusion
A feeling of hurt
Awash with contempt
No boundries conceal
Regrets never exempt
Abate of emotion
Joy shall transcend
A mind masked with a face
With a smile of pretend
A question unanswered
By those who explore
For the inner truth
We try to ignore
A gesture of hope
Sidestepped with rebuff
A sanctum of kindness
Is never enough
Silence too often
The words that recite
Thoughts are a sanctuary
You seek to implode and ignite
