Storm

Contributed by ScorpionFire88 on Sunday, 15th March 2009 @ 05:16:16 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

The clouds were dark,
the lightening bright.
The rain pounded down,
it was an amazing sight.

I hid in the closet
my little brother pulled close,
No one will find us
because no one knows.

We are suffering.
All of us.
The worst part is -
There is no one to trust.

We have to find a way
we have to escape
Pretty soon
it will be too late.

Our world is falling
apart all around us.
If we don't hurry,
It might kill us.

There! In the distance!
I see a light.
But it is really dim -
not at all bright.

But we MUST try
if not for ourselves,
then for our mother
barely making it herself.

We will be strong
that is our way
we will beat this storm
a little each day.

The light is getting brighter,
slowly.... but still.
We are fighters!
NO storm can make us keel.

~Right?~

Another poem I can relate too a bit different circumstance back then but yes I relate.
The best thing you can do to stop the abuse is tell someone and get help, life should not be like this for anyone. Abuse in any form is wrong, I feel strength in this write and know you are finding the way.

Hugs you tight

Michelle

You certainly have a brave soul, and I am glad to know you survived this and have become a voice of some sort to the silent ones who are going through this. A sad, but strong write! Thank you for sharing!
