I never thought it could happen to me
His touch was gentle; soft as can be
But here I lie, in an alley, in pain
Broken and hurt, only partially sane
I never believed it could happen to me
Now I lie, crying for the sky to see
The stars are the only sense of time
The only witnesses of this crime
I knew he had issues, but it was okay
He'd yell and kick things, but then he'd say
"I'm sorry I shouted, I just get so mad,
I won't do it again; please don't tell my dad."
Then he'd shower me with kisses, hold me so tight
And I felt like everything would just be alright...
I never thought it could happen to me
I had a good life; nothing I could need
But here I lie, in the bed tonight
Too tired to sleep; too sick with fright
I can't tell a soul, or he'll do it again
And he's too strong; I cannot defend
So maybe if I pretend it was all a dream
A horrible nightmare, my life will seem.

This is heart wrenching sad.
Sorry and empty promises don't mean **** to a chronic abuser.
You need to tell someone. Verbal abuse can turn physical in a heart beat..
I've been verbaly abused and it would have been phycical but he knew he'd never get away from my big brother. Thank God he don't live here any more.
I'd rather live a lone than to live like that again.
