Well they say happiness comes from within
Not from whiskey or a bottle of gin
I've searched and searched for those who truly care
Ignoring all the signs that say beware
Running on fumes going nowhere
I saw innocence turn into a bad thing
Please remove please remove please remove these crown of thorns
Well I'm to oid and tired to feel scorned
Please remove please remove please
remove these crown of thorns
Well I tried to build a better life
Still I continue to walk the edge of a knife
Sometimes I get on my knees to pray
I was told there is no other way
Still each morning I wake up in my beat up
Chevrolet
My dreams have been locked away for twenty years
Their found hiding behind a shadow of tears
Please take away please take away please take away these crown of thorns
Is there any shelter from the storm
Please take away please take away please
take away these crown of thorns

This poem moved me in its sadness and pain ... I still reckon - drink the bottle of whikey or gin and stop searching ... then suddenly love may find you ... take care... Jan |

I was searching for love for over 2 years and I eventually gave up. It is funny because within weeks of stopping looking, a wonderful man came into my life. Maybe to truly find what you are looking for, you have to let it come to you?

Has a melody of an old fashion rock & roll song. I wonder if this was written with that in mind? Great piece of writting.

Well the title caught our eye.
This brings back memories.
This is something we all can relate to.
Nice piece of writting.
