I Sent You a Small Email

Contributed by toomuchfreetime on Wednesday, 11th March 2009 @ 06:56:53 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I sent you a small email
Just to see if you'd respond
Asked you whether it was snowing
At your house or on your lawn
But you never did write back
Ad so I really couldn't see
Whether you had changed your email
Or just didn't care 'bout me

Your mom gave me your number
And too soon I couldn't wait
So I texed you 'bout the campout
And I gave you all the dates
Said I wanted you to come
And hoped your "To Do" list was small
Cause I knew you wouldn't make it
If you were in basketball

Then I sat around and waited
Twenty minutes, maybe more
My fragile hope was dwindling
That a text would be in store
Put my cellphone in my pocket
'Bout to give up the whole thing
When I thought I heard it vibrate
And my heart began to sing

It said "I hope that I can make it
Cause I really want to go.
I had so much fun there last year
When we both made mizzito.
I'll try and ask my parents
And if they both agree
Then I'll see you at the campout--
When was it? June 23?"
