Wait and See

How would you react,
If I told you I was destined to become the next president?
How would you react,
If I told you I would be a millionaire by twenty five?
How would you react,
If I told you I was the next Michael Jordan,
Or the next Barry sanders,
Or the next Hank Aaron?
How would you react?
Do you think you could look into my eyes and see that,
Or do you just see the brown coloring?
Well look again.
Look into my eyes.
Keep looking,
Because it’s better if you see who I will become now.
So that there will be no surprises.
I was born with my destiny already written.
My secret is that I have seen it.
That’s why I ask if you have yet?
Say what you will.
Do what you must.
Batter me,
Put me down,
Tell me I can’t,
Tell me that I’m crazy,
Tell me all the negative things you want.
It’s all right,
I wont take offence to it.
Because I know that your words can’t change my destiny.
Your just scared of what I will become.
Scared of the real me.
Because I know who I am,
And my potential is unlimited.
You just wait and see.

Excellent work. You can clearly see the meaning behind this piece. I find it very interesting how you target and question one of the most controversial issues that has stained America for hundreds of years and lay it on the cutting slab of poetry.

A wonderful, positive write...I love it!
I wish I had your conviction...
