Reliving Tension

I spat into the ice-cream cake mold
then added one last layer of ice cream over it.
Jokingly saying to myself,
“Happy birthday you dopey bast**ds”
No ones ever happy with their job
my old man told me once,
but you do what you have to.
It’s part of being a man.
Getting up going someplace
you don’t like, to do something
you hate to make money to pay for
ballet lessons your daughter don’t need,
shoes the wife will never wear
and a roof over your head that leaks
when it rains and the wind’s blowing
in a northeasterly direction.
Maybe tomorrow
I’ll stick a razorblade in the frozen yogurt treats.
Rents due and I’m eighty dollars short.

A poem written by a seemingly very frustrated person. Morbidity at its best. Sometimes life is truly that frustrating. Good job. Try not sticking razor blades in frozen yogurt treats though, I imagine that wouldn't slide down the esophagus too well, but I guess that's the point eh? |
