I can hear them laughing,
but I doubt they can hear me crying.
I feel so alone in this world,
so starved for human contact.
All they see is this fake smile I don,
because they don't want to see the frown.
They say they are my friends,
and that they are proud I am getting help.
But when I need help from them,
they blanch and shout.
I am always there for them at a moments notice,
but they can't take a moment to look in my direction.
I feel like I am going crazy,
I just can't take it anymore.
Tired of the lies,
tired of the pity.
Why can't I just be normal,
with normal friends.
Why does everything have to be so complicated,
and why am I always the one who gets hurt.
I want to scream to yell,
but once more all I would do is prove that I am the bad guy.
I just want all this confusion and pain to end,
I just want to live a life of happiness.
Why am I forced to be alone,
its as if god wants no one to know me.
Always the one everyone forgets to invite to the party,
Always the one everyone forgets is in the room.
So tired of the constant doubt,
so tired of having no love in my life.
I just want to lash out,
I just want to fight with my fists.
I want to show the world I am worth seeing,
that they are all the ones missing out.
I am worth noticing,
I am worth a moment of your time.
I don't want to find my strength in anger,
but I will do it if it means I will survive.

a common frustration, harboured by many people. society does neglect a large swathe of people who just 'don't fit in'. this poem could have easily been written about me. but there is refuge in the arms of those who are also neglected. great writing, very emotive.
