no matter how s****y the day has been
my razor is waiting for me
a few gashes on my arms
sometimes my chest
and suddenly i'm set free
no problem too big
for these scars to devour
these portals to paradise
with each new wound
i'm transported to
a world seperated from pain
some think it hurts, but they've no idea
i'll tell you
it's the sweetest kiss in the world
when that small pointed edge
is tearing my flesh
nothing else really matters
with each river of blood
i'm closer to heaven
with each inch of flesh, scarred
i'm drifting further away
drifting from this world
of "not good enough"s
drifting from the pain
from the rumors
from every venom-filled curse
spat by the world
drifting from the cancer of life
working my way slowly down my arms
edging ever closer to my wrists
one day i'll have the courage to open that vein
but for now, i'm happy with this

I loved this poem and I hated it. I loved it becuase the writing is exquisite and I hated it becuase this, luckily, is something that I cannot realte to and it gave me insight into those who self-harm.
I am sort of glad that it gives you a release but please please please never go for the wrists. The world needs talented writers like yourself to help others who cannot express themselves in words or on paper.
Absolutely amazing poem but forgive me if I never read it again, it was too good!!
