I've thought to myself countless times
I'm not going to change overnight
But I try and try to believe that this isn't true
I hold a doll inside my hand
I write on a piece of paper, my plan
To decide how I should deal with the one and only, you
Swaying your hair in the moonlight
It's your eyes that seem to be so bright
But the smell of this boredom hangs above the rest
And you go out the front door
You look thirty-four
But to be honest I think you're a modest mess
So don't say goodbye
Or try and cross the line
Times will change but you remain in the middle
The rain takes the sunlight
To wash away your cold nights
The stars seem to fade in amongst the riddle
On a night like this one
A shade covers our sun
Is it one step forward or two steps back, mind?
A gun to sing my hidden words
This pain you feel is all you deserve
These lipstick stains will send chills down my spine
So four hundred songs but only one meaning
A violin to say all the words that I've been thinking
Time and space are two things you can't bend
So leave them be or you'll fall to your end
