last photo of our race

Contributed by Voice of the Silent on Wednesday, 25th February 2009 @ 10:44:02 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

One of my first shots at free verse it has some rhyme but still. hope you like it

Our final storm comes so fast
This might be human kinds last
Rain comes down so hard
It like god takes a picture before we die
Thunder like the snap of the shot
Lightning the flash that makes skin rot

Our final storm comes in so fast
It kills all of human kind
And god is sitting in his high room
Practicing his photography

For the perfect shot of man kind
While we stare death in the face
God is getting a special picture of the genocide of our race

I have to say, the comparison of lightning with photography....brilliant! Those are the kinds of images and concepts that have the potential to take a poem that extra step. Bravo to you.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
