I have submitted to
what I should not have submitted to;
taken at times
what was not mine.
I have subscribed to
what I knew
was not true;
yet remained quiet
still;
afraid.
I've carried water
for that Other
while weak from thirst myself.
I've cast my eyes down
from exhaustion
and looked away
when I shouldn't have.
Yet
in all this
I have never faltered
from loving you.
Never once has your light
left my face;
my heart
from this home and space
we've shared.
My weaknesses
true
are many;
but my love for you
is my Monument-
and I'm Yours.

I saw a glimpse of a very giving person who touched my heart.
It is a poem that the reader can easily relate to and well.... just feel.
It's a lovely, honest and uniquely expressed poem.
I feel lucky to have found it. Thank you.
