Even though,
I soar through the valley of the shadow of death
At 39,000 feet, I shall fear no evil,
For I am evil, marauder of stealth.
Darkness blinds the mark,
But like the owl, I see into the night.
my console, illuminates,
Eternity stands still, hesitation sits in,
my finger on death.
I have been groomed….
For this doom.
Don’t compromise the mission,
A sortie of mass destruction.
Transfixed on the horizon,
Before me,
A color photo bears my seed.
Focus on the Hud.
Sweat beads, wiping my conscience,
Gently Squeezing the trigger.
Protect the souls,
I thoust take.
The bird of prey wobbles,
A contrail of fire slowly descends,
Fading Into the abyss below.
Pull up, pull up,
The heavens in full view.
Closing my eyes, asking, truth,
What are you?
Guardian or Destroyer of humanity?
Have mercy on me.
Don’t judge thee,
Until one has baked,
And blistered under the hot sun.
Felt and endured the touch
Of hell, with bare skin…….

In answer to your question, yes, I do.
Awesome writing but don't you go runing round in no stealth.
big smiles, huggs,

Yes I do too!
I adore the power in this and the message within this verse.
It is so powerful infact, right at this moment I have tears in my eyes, how true it is my friend, thanks for this!
Hugs and lots of Love

A very good piece of seeing into the mind of a pilot that has to drop bombs. I know that I would not want to be in his shoes. I am not sure the message of " the pilot wishing to change the world" comes across but I would tend to think that no matter what, no matter what aspect of war or angle we look from, war changes the world in some way or another. That is merely my opinion and I am quite often wrong. I do it like this poem though, so please keep posting. You know I like reading your work.
Your imagery is excellent, btw.
