i wanna be the one

I hear you talk about so many lost loves
every song i hear is about a sad breakup
but i wanna be the one to make you happy
and be the one who turn bad into classy

I would like nothing more
than to see that infamous folklore
that smile you love to show
but then when life hits you, its time for it to go

I want to be the voice in your head
the one opposing 'better off dead'
the thought when you want to die
and the one you come to when you want to just cry

I will be the beacon of light in your dark world
and all i ask is that you try to be a good girl
whether you are mine or theirs
Either way, Im still gonna care

So while other look at you and wonder why so sad
Im gonna ask 'why arent you glad?'
and whether its an honest answer or cold shoulder
Ill try my hardest to make you get it over

I want to be the one you are always smiling about
the one that causes those wrinkles around your mouth
the one that makes you forget your sorrow
and still manages to fix the problem by tomorrow

I want to be the antithesis of your songs
the one who can magically fix all your wrongs
just by lending an open ear and realistic schemes
Even if i am not the man of your dreams

so when you write your next sad script
i want you to remember me and and what i did
cause to see you smile after you feel like you've been in defeat
would make my life's goal complete

so put down that pen and pad
and the next time others make you mad
i want you to think of me
I may not make you happy but I promise I'll make you laugh.
