Until We Meet Again

selfstruggles
|
You who loved me,
who let me drink from your breast
has discarded me
upon the streets of torment.
And as I suffer;
internally dying,
you jest at me.
Scornfully you jest.
In my pain.
In your taunting affection.
The love I once felt.
Never again will it return.
She who has taken my place,
now drinks at your breast.
Never again will I return.
Internal and External.
Death cannot be evaded.
Yet you laugh as if you can.
We are all mortal.
Your day will come,
as mine has.
When you are called
think of me.
It will be my scornful laugh you hear.
Ring the bells of heaven
another awaits
we shall see where she goes.

This is quite a deep and powerful poem. I greatly enjoyed the flow of it and I hope its just great writing and not based from fact! |

Incredible! I can feel your hurt and your defiance. People sure can be mean can they not? I like the way you have captured the pain of that with this one, yet, it would seem you're holding your head up high at the end. You did a great job!
Take care,
Tim |
