And they said, “Even the romance of suicide left her wanting”
Left who wanting?
“Her wanting.”
But didn’t they see the piano keys were dusty?
And that a basket of apricots ever so slightly ripened hid words that
would make the juices flow inward and outward
Out of tear ducts and settling in the corners of her mouth
Until white powder contorted and twisted her features and eventually
She was no longer recognizable.
