A feeling rises again, the moment of a lonely sigh.
The soul and heart feeling amiss you stand at the other side of lonely and wish.
Wish that you really fit in, that you were not that person looking in.
Trying to dismiss the tears welling on lids, wanting to hide the feeling.
It is the one thing all humans seem to want, the feeling of belonging somewhere.
Without another's cruel strong words, or a stare of disgust and not wanting.
The high brow and the begrudging, the knowing how one really feels.
The games, lies and soul berating, comes as no surprise.
When they do not really understand, their attitude makes them think they are better...........
How does one maintain a loving heart? Towards these types of things.
When I dig for another ounce of empathy, apathy is all it brings.
Maybe it is the moment of peace, when apathy could be the blessings.
Another road another small byway, big tires turning and driving away.
One could disappear readily out here, never to be heard from again.
None would be the wiser it seems, but then they are the ones not caring.
Until the time comes for more cruel words, uncaring deeds and such.
A lonely sigh escapes the lips and the cold western winds moan once more.
One more tear escapes the lids and a lonely sigh barely whispered.
A touch of lonely in a world so big, I plead to escape the feeling.

Oh girl, this is so sad but awesome writing.
I can relate in my past but I just couldn't live with that attitude. That's why he's only God knows where.

Wow!!! This speaks volumes to me as I can soooooooooo relate. Lots and lots of meaning here with oh so much truth. I can also really feel the emotion. You did a great job with this one, Michelle.

I have always Loved Your work Shelby.
Have not been around for a long while..
This poem touched my heart.
Although sad , Many including myself can appreciate what you have penned.
