The touch I never knew
A voice so strange
Mother where have you gone
Locked away inside this empty room
I have nothing to share
But the pain your absence left
How can you walk away
And leave me to myself
Questioning every breath I take
I hate that I care so much
Crying for a stranger
Why cant I move on
From the past we didn’t have
And find a future
In the things I know I'm over looking
Because Im tired of holding on
Keeping faith in the hopeless

I heard youre out there drowning inside yourself
Searching for your next trip
A rusty needle your only friend
Its drugs you cradled in your arms
To get through nights
While a child cried himself to sleep
Miles from mothers cold embrace
A love I never knew
I cant stay here anymore
Trapped inside never knowing
Life cant be molded by who you are
Ill find my path alone
And build walls between us
So I won’t look back and wonder
This is my goodbye to you

I feel your pain & struggle, expressed so well in this write. I hope you find happiness &
joy in life. Sometimes we must follow. . . sometimes we must lead. Don't build walls
too high out of need & loneliness. Build yourself a better world & learn to trust & love.
We are never really alone. . . peace to you. elle

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
