As Of Now

Contributed by ItsMeNow on Friday, 13th February 2009 @ 05:45:18 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You’re too busy now to talk to me. You’ve got other things to do I see.

You’ve got more important stuff to do. Oh by the way, I love you too.

Of course you’ve got to live for you, but can’t I have a minute too?

My complacence now your ways have set, that’s become my deepest dark regret.

So is this how it was meant to end? Or our relationship can we still mend?

Was it me this time who misunderstood? If it was this is for my own good.

So from that cup I now drink, I find my world begins to sink.

So is it you or I or us or we? Us as one will cease to be.

And I afloat this cold dark sea, drown as I struggle to break free.

Then find it was never about just you or me, not he or she, nor us or we.

And it was never about love or hate, truth or lies, coincidence or fate.

Still it meant much more than that to me, it meant more than you could ever see.

It was about us not being two but one, and passion that burns hotter than the sun.

It was trusting love I could not see, and knowing you’d be there for me.

But I still know I’ll be okay. I’ll keep living each and everyday.

And all that time I’ll think of you, not knowing what you’re going through.

I’ll keep thinking of what would have been and could have been,

If only you had let me know just when, it was right to love again, live again, and think of only you again.

I wish I could begin again to give again, to be with you through thick and thin.

We’ve come so far yet still fall short. To love agains our last resort.

Yet you don’t even want to try, you just sit and stare and watch me die, your hearts so cold you don’t even cry.

I’ve tried so hard to make this last, but you just let my love fly past.

Then wonder why it went so fast and struck you with a sudden blast.

Its funny how it falls apart, yet you think its okay.

I’m standing here right next to you, yet your hearts so far away.

If that’s how you want it to be keep living just that way,

Then you’ll look for me and I’ll be gone I’ll go on my own way.

So have your fun, live your life cause as of now it stands as this,

The next time you look or reach for me, I’ll be the one who’s missed…

Certainly a swirling vortext of thoughts in this one, the sense of frustration heightened by all of them.
Clever twist at the end too

I like the transitional ending...
I try to do that with my "lost love" stuff....
It bolsters the poem when there is validation/vindication, or hope in the end...
Great job, keep up the posts..

I love your poems..You have an amazing talent. this one is so full of raw emotion, and frustration, with a burst of hope at the end. awsome stuff.
