Years of life’s splendid banquet, a table now bare
Room filled with pleasantries, at once, too hushed
All-around this dusty board, gather a skeletal chair
Whence comes such love, with cheeks so flushed
~*~
Candelabrum latticed through heavily with web
Once lighting our faces, aglow with affection
Cold wax with lost radiance carries on to ebb
Till once again lit, shining adoration’s confection
~*~
Years of dust and webs can be swept away
Fresh linen and china, all places are easily set
Candles alight, once more hold their sway
Empty chairs now filled with our loving quintet
~*~
Let us find our way back to life’s grand banquet
Such a feast is prepared, our table finally set
