Nothing is what it seems

Contributed by bigbadblinkybill on Sunday, 8th February 2009 @ 07:41:56 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Dancing, drunken, disco lights surround me as i fall,
i look deep into your eyes
but dont see me at all.

Look at me! look at me!
comes the desperate cry
but it is not what i really want,
and i tell you reasons why.

maybe if you see me
my pain will be hidden still
i can run away and hide it all
with this crafted mask of skill.

but when i go home alone
and wash my painted smile
the tears flow from deep inside my heart
that where flowing all the while.

to people im the joker
the man without a frown
but who sits there and listens
to the failings of a clown?

so look at me!,look at me!
look at me some more!
cos if you're looking hard enough
you'll see a whole lot more.

Very nicely written. Ah, sad though that some people don't seem to have that much attention to detail and cannot see past the noses on their face. You captured that well....that emotion and hurt of someone not being to realize what they have in front of them.

Take care,

Tim

This hits home for me - a lot us want people to really see us as we are, but when the moment comes in order to do this we turn them away. I enjoyed this - keep writing xx
