Beautiful Dirty Face

The roses wilted with faces down,
Touching the beautiful dirty ground,
Where the anonymity rises from below,
And a beautiful dirty face begins to grow,
Popping from the ground in such a feat,
Smelling so sour but looking so sweet,
The red roses are all so jealous,
In awe plummets their trellis,
What a beautiful ugly thing it is,
All the dazed eyes are on his,
Someone here must have a wit,
When a rose gets tossed for a misfit,
Dirty face grew to be a yellow daisy,
Who drove all the young girls crazy,
With his little petals, oh so unique,
Stretching out his limbs as if to speak,
Beautiful dirty face pampered with attention,
Living in a glass world of crystal retention,
Perfectedly loved and perfectly treated,
Makes a beautiful dirty face conceited,
But after a few days he grew old,
And all the girls began to chase a marigold,
So there he lay, left alone and rotten,
Once famous, now forgotten,
Poor little dirty face who lost it all,
Once standing, but he had to fall,
Now here he lies in his flower bed,
A beautiful dirty face once alive, now dead,
What a tragic ending for a pleasant story,
Living in the limelight, but dying without glory,
A lesson from our little dirty face is said to be learned,
Which says control your pride because it may never be returned,
Goodnight beautiful dirty face,
May you rest in peace and grace.

Ok. It got me asking questions and making answers.
a long time love?
Once Loved?
Never Loved?
a wanted love?
or just a beloved? |

I will honestly say that I don't exactly get it. It is a bit ambiguous to me but that is me, okay? So please don't misunderstand, I love the analogies and I definitely think it is excellent poetry as poetry is not for all of us to understand but possibly get our own interpretations out of such. It's beautifully written and I cannot explain the next I am about to type but it made me start thinking of Michael Hutchins for some reason. Again, I cannot explain it, it's just what it is. Possibly an associative memory of some sorts?
Take care and thank you for an enjoyable read.
