Molly takes care
of this old man,
who looks retarded;
she doesn't look happy.
Maybe my life is better
then hers.
Maybe I got this one.
I see her walking him
up and down the Avenue
him holding her
as he would a wife,
and they were in love,
or the sidewalks were icy,
and he didn't want to fall.
I would say hello.
But she doesn't look happy.
I don't think
meeting an old friend,
would make her day.
Sometimes, when I run
into old friends, on my job.
I feel like that.
Honest work, big deal!
They still catch you doing it!
