anguished

Sits here still as everything moves around
Consuming words and eating snacks
Toys with ambitions and memories lost
And keeps watching the lights as they go out
Listen to her as she weeps
A cruel joke her life’s all about
Blames people for the fun of it
And cries regretting her life
Her skin gives way as I touch
She smiles
Old wounds need to be scratched
Salt, nicotine and mouth wash
Decorates the pillow this night
She preys
She preys with artificial lights
Comfort me with pain
Comfort me with lies

A good snap shot of a piece of real life, a place I've seen too, returns to me through your writing.
Thank You I.B. |
