turning point

LoveRemembered
|
how did we reach this turning point?
desires' short journey, spent.
a random longing, once fulfilled.
now ill, at what we meant.
did you not love
the thought of me?
did I not hold you dear?
my heart will never bare the weight.
I cannot chance the fear. . .
& mark this space
that seperates,
intent on holding on. . .
a glance, a touch
a precious moment,
for all our grasping, gone.
no doubt,
my comfort is displaced.
I wait
throughout each day
among the thoughts & words,
our past. . .
without a saving grace.
& where are you
my once dear friend,
now that you've traveled on?
do thoughts of me still linger, sweet?
will my memory
lure you home?

The days seem to tear away all those we find familiar, let memories be unto you like an ancient standing pillar. |

This echoes the very same thoughts I've had of someone. It definitely brings tears to the eyes. So beautifully written! ! ! |
