the dew,
is my friend.
settles in. . .
as I lay morning side
of tumultuous thoughts,
tumbling.
the field
is clear.
the air crisp,
settles in. . .
this quietest of time.
my path, not clear.
not yet.
nowhere in sight.
what?
no hand to hold.
the dull thud of loneliness
falls heavy.
realization,
as it is,
is my friend.
settles in. . .

elle, that morning clarity, post escapist sleep is only rivalled by that time in the afternoon described by author Douglas Adams as 'the long dark teatime of the soul.'
a spare and sobering write. I don't enjoy that thud either, but its better than waking up alongside someone you don't want to be near.
