Six weeks and not a word
Twenty-five years ago,
I would’ve thought nothing
of this.
In fact, probably consider it
a mini vacation from this addiction.

Now I worry if age has shut down
that part of my brain I often B/S
‘ I wish would’, but now realize
when push comes to shove.
The only real true friend
I ever had.

Nicely done, with a balance of pathos and mature introspection that went straight to the core of this reader.
