FEAR
What is it that you fear?
Is it loosing ones you hold dear?
Perhaps it is fear of failure,
that your dreams are delusions of grandeur.

Is fear a dread of what’s to come,
something so scary you run?
A large fear is quick to wrench your guts.
A small fear is death by a thousand cuts.

Perhaps a fear of losing face,
big enough to make your heart race.
Soldiers fear battle, afraid to die,
But a stronger fear of being a coward makes them try.

What is worse, fear of the unknown?
Or the fear of a monster already shown?
Some fear a love will them betray,
while others fear their lovers will never go away.

Fear is waiting in the night for the other shoe to drop,
That someone is going to fast at cliff’s edge to stop.
A fear all will be destroyed before that one reaches the prize,
a fear that a school can educate but can’t make them wise.

My fear is that all will come crashing down.
Plans not withstanding, a whim can make you look like a clown.
Fear that all you thought about them is wrong,
that the maze of their psyche is to complicated and strong.
