Once I was waiting for Jesus
along with the other nuts,
talked that ‘He’s gonna save you trash’
that nobody really wants to hear.
Read the bible on lunch breaks in the park,
while others chow-ed down, smoked dope
or gawked at the pretties waking by..
I even busted my kids’ chops,
but they just escape to their rooms
made their stereos louder.
Once I was saved
and was going to heaven
positive you all were gonna burn in hell.
The old lady tells me now.
It was harder then the drug years.
