Stoopid Noize!

Topic: HumorPoetry

I like hanging out of closed windows just for fun,
And firing water guns at the sun,
Smiling at strangers in the dark,
Going fishing in my pool for a shark,
I like riding in the desert on a cow,
And collecting pumpkins for Halloween two years from now,
Breakfasts are for losers so I've never missed one,
I'll shoot you dead with my popgun,
Eat out of cups and drink out of dishes,
With my concrete boots I'll dine with the fishes,
I make my money from a wishing well,
And throw bonfire parties down in hell,
I'll make you a coloring book in full color,
Then grind some flakes and hit you with the muller,
I've never rode on a horse not made of wood,
And I've never failed to not do what I should,
I'm evicted from James' giant peach,
Because I covered that dumb fruit with bleach,
I have a pet cactus who I have befriended,
He's a real prick, but I hope he's not offended,
I hate that stoopid noize in the back of my head,
It's telling me I'm living a lie and I'm better off dead,
I tried to do what the voices told me, but I couldn't get out of bed,
Now I'm just sitting here writing cheesy poems instead,
I can turn on a horse, just give me some quarters,
Catch me with a nametag and I still don't take orders,
My life's a calendar because I watch the days fly by,
And I hang my mittens out in the rain to dry,
The scarecrow in the garden's laughing at me,
As the crow on his shoulder calls me a pansy,
My fork in the road was really a spoon,
And I used it to eat my cheese on the moon,
I drink Root Beer and pretend to be drunk,
I have golden braces and pretend to be crunk,
The grass is always greener on the other side,
Except if it's my yard, than they've lied,
I hate this stoopid noize in the back of my head,
It's telling me I'm living a lie and I'm better off dead,
I tried to do what the voices told me, but I couldn't get out of bed,
Now I'm just sitting here writing cheesy poems instead,
I rode in the artic on a donkey with no name,
And no one knows because of my subzero fame,
There's no way in the world I can dance,
But after a few boos give me another glance,
I burn C.D.'s to light the camp fire,
And throw wood at people with LimeWire,
I've never been in a subway, but I've eaten in one,
He swore he didn't but Kurt really did have a gun,
I sell Pepsi on the street and I know a guy who sells Coke,
He's got a white mustache and he's a funny bloke,
I'll be a teenager until about I'm thirty-four,
When wearing school girl outfits means you're a whore,
I hate this stoopid noize in the back of my head,
It's telling me I'm living a lie and I'm better off dead,
I tried to do what the voices told me, but I couldn't get out of bed,
Now I'm just sitting here writing cheesy poems instead,
I've been deep in the seas on a yellow sub,
I've traveled so far and I didn't even leave the tub,
I have a bracelet made from Lucky Charms,
And I've never failed to accidently turn on fire alarms,
I like Finny on the Goldfish box,
And I like to cheer for the Pink Sox,
I've seen a sleepless night and a sleepless day,
I've streamed with tears when I got my way,
I wear obnoxious shoes just for the hell of it,
And I wear my laces tied by a hint of wit,
I'm the captain of a ship sinking in quicksand,
I'm the walker in a marching band,
They say if I don't act my age I won't get very far,
And I know no matter what I won't because I can't drive a car,
I hate this stoopid noize in the back of my head,
It's telling me I'm living a lie and I'm better off dead,
I tried to do what the voices told me, but I couldn't get out of bed,
Now I'm just sitting here writing cheesy poems instead,
My moments are now nearing more and more to a close,
All this time I've wasted on a noise that no one knows,
I'll hear this stoopid noize until the day I die,
Then I'll pop in my earplugs and silently wave goodbye.

that was fun. It reminded me so much of Shel Silversteins poems, especially the ones in his book "Where the Sidewalk Ends." Some of the wording was inspired. Like I am with Silverstein, I have no idea where talent like yours springs from. I don't really care where all of that came from, but I thank you for putting pen to paper and sharing it. Really nice read.
