Poetry can be fun
It can laugh
It can run
We can chase it
To the edge of the earth
Or chase it to the sun
And we might fall off the edge
Or we might be burned
But we won’t reach any scorn
We will simply live and learn
And begin to think things
Once unbelievable
Consider things
Once unimaginable
Sidle toward a brink
Never met before
Because while some poems
Tickle the skin
Others
Peck at the bones
They pry into parts of us
We haven’t known
They can break us down
Like brittle stones
Or build us up
When we’ve crumble low
But poetry doesn’t aspire
To such a goal
It’s not some
Basil soup for your soul
It’s whatever it wants to be
So long as it’s alive
Moving and free
Or dead
Still and bound
It’s not up to me
To make it some
Perfect thing
Packaged so well
With bows
And string
I think the box
Would suffocate it
Beauty
In utter misery

I like the poem but though it a bit to long
and jumpy to hold the readers attention.
hey but this is just my opinion. |
