Jazz for difficult times
When your pinned against the wall
And all that your left with is a song
It’s worth far more than anything material
You realize life can be so trivial
Stacey sings for you this evening
When your mind is telling you to stop running
Passion driven, bordering on obsession
You can hardly count anything as your possession
Yet a smile creeps up on my face
Cause they said it was going to be a difficult race
Skyscrapers, lights emanating from them
Cities that never sleep
The shimmer from the cymbals signaling the end of a song
But there’s always another one to follow
Stop only for the night
She will always sing
Jazz for difficult times
