I stand on shores under the lights on flights
taking you across frozen tundra to places I have never seen
setting you down on ground
so far away from where I am
and I, alone, miles more from home
take a solitary walk into an empty apartment again
having sacrificed my youth and a marriage and
having lost my God along the way
I can only lie awake with the lights
from street lamps seeping in
and guilt is the music played too loud that keeps me awake

Dri...
I spent most of my life there. If the God you had could be lost, it wasn't worth keeping! Society's version of God is pretty pithy...I have established a website sharing a lot of what I have learned on my solitary walk...I say solitary; I felt isolated from the world...an enigma, but I was never alone...

As has always been the case, your work is poignant and gritty...very much alive...
blessings in the midst of it all...
